Bronchitis: It sounds like he may also have sinusitis along with bronchitis. Please see your primary care physician.

Go to your doctor: Viral and bacterial infections can cause bronchitis that can also involve the sinuses. Early sinusitis is treated with decongestants. Increasing pain, fever and excessive discharge and now lid swelling could indicate a serious bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. Go to your doctor for a proper examination and treatment.
