Bow legs: You should see you primary care doctor who may refer you to an orthopedist. There are some conditions which may require surgery but there may be other reasons why you are having knee pain.

See a doctor: You should see a doctor, get standing full length hip to ankle xrays of your knees and get a detailed history and physical examination. There is a large variation of alignment in the human populaiton, but if the malalignment is severe, it could lead to wear of the medial compartment of your knee. So, get checked out.
