Joints crack: Typically joints crack due to weakened soft tissue supporting structures (muscles, ligaments, tendons). If the muscles are already known to be weak, a cause for the weakness should be sought. Aging and deconditioning of the muscles could be a cause but evaluation by a doctor is advised to rule out other causes.
