Safe but not helpful: Unless a person has some serious vitamin deficiency (very unlikely in the U.S.) taking additional vitamins, folic acid, or biotin at the usual recommended supplement doses will lead to hair growth at about 1mm every couple of days, or about half an inch a month . . . Which is the same hair growth rate as in people not taking extra folate nor extra biotin.
