A member asked:

Would paracetamol not work anymore if you swallowed activated charcoal and n-acetylcysteine capsules?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diminished effect: Paracetamol or Acetaminophen is an anti pyretic that metabolises mainly in the liver. If you swallow paracetamol with activated charcoal it considerably decreased its absorption and if you take n acetyle cystein with it, it protect liver from the damage which could be caused by paracetamol metabolite as potent oxidant.
