Ringworm: Topical treatments (creams) are most commonly used for ringworm, or tinea. Brand name prescription antifungals work best--naftin, loprox, (ciclopirox) etc. And usually kill fungus within 2 weeks. Widespread infection occasionally requires oral meds.
