What are the long term effects of congenital hypoxia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on variables: Hypoxia at birth is relative, as all babies have lower oxygen content in the womb before delivery & the slower metabolism of the unborn is able to tolerate it.After delivery, baby works to breathe, maintain their heat & blood sugar & must increase their blood oxygen content. The duration of any oxygen deprivation after delivery effects amount of injury from none to lots. It takes time to tell.
