Rubbish.: Acetic acid ( the active component of vinegar) is eaten daily around the world in a variety of foods. It is easily metabolized by the body and does not prevent healing.

vinegar vs healing: The ingestion of apple vinegar will have little to no effect on wound healing. However vinegar ( also known as acetic acid) can detrimentally impact wound healing when placed in a wound. Feel free to use it on your salads but never in a wound.

No effect: Consuming vinegar will have no effect on wounds or surgical recovery. Vinegar has been used in the past topically on wounds but this is now known to be ill advised and has a negative effect on the progression of wound healing. In theory this had an antibacterial effect on the wounds. If this is true at all the damage to healing far outweighs any antibacterial effect.
