Jock itch & tinea: Jock itch (aka tinea cruris) is a fungal infection of dark, warm moist area of the crotch. The same fungus can infect similar environments on the body, e.g. The armpits. Keep area dry with antiperspirant (wipe leading edge to remove fungus), talcum powder (no corn starch!), or powdered spray antifungal (desenex/tinactin/cruex). Antifungal cream (lamisil) can speed cure but use for 1 wk after clear.
