See an REI doc: Birth control pills are often helpful but are contraindicated in a patient with a history of stroke. An obgyn or reproductive endocrinologist could be helpful.

Get examined: By your internist, gyn & hematologist with your history of stroke at a young age, you likely have a hereditary condition that makes you prone to developing clots. For god's sakes, quit smoking! maintain your blood pressure within normal range, attain ideal body weight , check your bmi/google online for calculation), have your blood sugar, lipids and thyroid tested. Was your ekg normal? Exercise.
