TAKE RIGHT DOSE: Glimepiride is fine and cheap, however can lead to weight gain and possible hypoglycemia. Metformin dose is inadqeuate. Needs to be taken 2x/day (immediate release) and most effect dose is 2000 mg/day. Increase slowly at intervals to avoid GI problems. Talk w/your doctor.
