Need for evaluation: It is time to see your doctor who may refer you to a speech pathologist (they also evaluate swallowing disorders).

Dysphagia: There are a lot of causes of swallowing difficulty, and many are easily treated. You should talk to your gp who will likely order a barium swallow, which allows us to watch the mechanics of your swallow, and determine if there is any other evaluation that needs to be done.

See a doctor : First make sure that you are not gorging or biting off more food than you can comfortably handle. If you continue to have this problem, contact your doctor to rule out a problem with your thyroid, tonsils or muscular diffuculties.
