Mouth Ulcers: Canker sores (ulcers in your mouth) can be easily treated with over the counter drugs like kankaid that provide pain relief and covering for the sore that aids healing. Gentle and thorough oral care is critical. Ulcers outside of your mouth (caused by herpes virus) can be treated w/otc drugs like abreva. Ulcers that are not healing, raise the concern of oral cancer and need closer examination.

Avoid acids: Stay away from acidic foods and drinks like coffees tea and sodas. Rinse your mouth with maalox or mylanta liquid after eating and before going to bed. Many people with mouth ulcers have saliva which is too acidic. If these measures are not helpful see your doctor as rare conditions can cause ulcers.
