Take it slow: If your child has separation anxiety disorder your child may simply have developmental delays that prevent her from developing an autonomous self until later. She may feel that part of her is gone when you are not there. Ensure her that you are available by phone and that you will always be there for her if there is a need. Part of this process is being patient with yourself and your daughter.

Reassurance: The best is to reassure her that there is nothing to worry and like any other day, you will always pick her up. You have to be firm but gentle. Let her know that she will be with her friends and teachers. Reassure her that you are just a phone call away.
