Usually older.: While fertile, age is an indirect factor, because the full sx of metabolic syndrome, including pcos, takes time to fully develop! if you are young and have pcos, beware. It is a sign of problems to come. Obesity around the middle is key, and weight loss is essential. Since weight gain is usually progressive, women 35 are more likely than 25y/o females to have this!

Earlier & earlier: Because of increasing obesity, pcos is not being seen in younger and younger women. Since infertility is a common presenting feature, pcos is most commonly noted in the child-bearing years, but can occur at almost any time, even later in life. Diet, exercise and weight loss are keys to therapy, and metfomin will help many to resume normal menses an fertility. Talk w/your doctor.
