This depends: There are several different forms of hepatitis. The most usual ones are the viral type but there are hepatitis a, b, c, d, e, and g. Of these a, b, and c re the most common. Hepatitis b is transmitted by contaminated blood or serum products including sharing needles, etc. Hepatitis c is also transmitted under similar circumstances including sexually.
