Penile Fracture: When the penis is rigid, it is possible to bend it so severely as to rupture the rods that create the erection. Usually this occurs with missed penetration. A sudden pop, quick loss of the erection and swelling of the penis (eggplant deformity) ensues. With surgery most patients recover function.
