Yes, but: Because it is an antidepressant it should be tapered slowly under the direction of a physician.

Be careful: If you are referring to citalopram the ssri antidepressant, you should be tapered off slowly as going off suddenly could cause a rebound like condition which can cause anything from anxiety to head aches to seizures.
