Aerobic: Regular aerobic exercise, at least 3-4 times per week, that truly conditions the cardiovascular system is required. This means maintaining target heart rates for at least 30-40 minutes at a time. The associated weight control and maintenance, improvement in Insulin metabolism, and better diet that accompanies a commitment to exercise programs may also help control elevated blood pressure.
