Smoking and sperm: If you smoke it could damage the sperm and that could mean that the sperm would not join with the ovum to create an embryo or the embryo would be abnormal and would not implant in the uterus or not survive if it did implant. It could also be a normal embryo and develop into a normal baby. Why take a chance - stop smoking -- especially if you want to conceive a healthy baby.

Probably not: The male gets a bit of a pass when it comes to toxic agents.There are many millions of sperm released and the ones made the day you smoke are not necessarily the ones released that day, but a regular smoker may impair some.The injured are less likely to create pregnancy than a healthy sperm that swims better. Its a bad habit ; most of the negative effects on baby would happen after birth.
