A member asked:

Does getting pain in your tailbone have anything to do after have a colonoscopy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: You are mildly sedated during a colonoscopy and in some circumstance you may have rested on a bone longer than you normally would. That being said, the sedation in colonoscopy is mild and you would likely have been on your side for an extended period (although usually 5 minutes) and not enough to hurt. There really is no technical reason why a tailbone could have been injured in a colonoscopy.
