A doctor has provided 1 answer

Peri-menopause?: There are so many things that can cause menstrual bleeding to be irregular or seem to stop at age 40, including thyroid problems, other hormonal imbalances including menopause, stress, etc. The most common cause is fluctuations in ovarian function of peri-menopause, which can begin several years before actual menopause. You should see your doctor to check everything out.
