Both Thumbs Stiff: There are 765 known causes of bilateral thumb stiffness, but the top five are bilateral small joint arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, symmetrical arthritis, osteoarthritis, and lupus, without further details, it is very hard to say, but you should definitely want to rule out lupus or another related connective tissue disorder. Does your work/avocation involve repetitive hand movements? Check w/ md.
