Don't worry: The first 6-12 periods will be "weird" so don't worry. They may be brown, bright red, red, mixed, light, heavy - all bets are off. You may skip months or be off by weeks also - so always be prepared. As the first year passes your periods will become what will be normal for you (everyone is different). Your 1st period usually starts darker, then goes lighter - also, it may last more than a week.
