Talk woncologist gis: Oncologist will have options most likely. Surgery is not helpful at this stage in general.

Temporizing: When stage 4 lung cancer is reached, surgical options are generally off the table. Chemotherapy used in this setting is to slow the progression of disease and extend survival. Expectations in situation should be realistic.

Your choice: Occasionally, chemotherapy has caused a cancer to shrink to a scar without any cancer cells left. If this is not the case, then you have a right to an honest discussion with your oncologist about your wishes for end-of-life care. Many of these doctors are good at helping here as well.
