Thyroid replacement: Take the proper dose of brand name thyroid replacement (t4). Your hair will eventually grow back out normally, but it may take 6-8 months depending upon the length of your hair. Also, any chemicals (coloring agents, straighteners, etc) can also cause brittle hair no matter what your thyroid status is.
