Common: Always using a condom is prudent behavior. Spotting and irregular bleeding are common on pills. Just plan to skip continue the next active pack without a day of no pills or any of the placebos.

Skip Your Period: Breakthrough bleeding is common in the first few months of taking oc's. It doesn't mean "pill failure." if you skip the next placebo week, you must start on pill 1 again right away. Your chances of pregnancy are no different than general "pill failure" of less than 0.1%. If you have any doubts, consult your gynecologist who knows your history the best.
