A member asked:

I had a severe initial reaction to each bc i tried. can i take half a pill the 1st month to help me adjust? only taking for cramps not sexually active

Drug reaction: Well, half a pill isn't a good choice. Perhaps another oral contraceptive should be tried. Without knowing what your reaction was it is hard to make a recommendation. It would probably be best to discuss it with your doctor.

No: I do not know what you mean by "severe reaction, " but any reaction to any substance that you label as "severe" has to be investigated. Stop using the pill, use condoms and spermacide or abstinence and talk to your physician as to the nature of the reaction.
