Possibly: Sickle cell disease (scd) probably has little effect on fertility. However, sickle crisis can be more frequent in pregnancy and the impaired oxygenation due to scd can affect the growth and development of the fetus. There is also an increased risk for preterm labor and premature delivery. Because of the increased risks, a pregnancy complicated by scd should be followed by a perinatologist.

Depends: If you have sickle cell trait, it would not have much of an effect, If you have sickle cells disease it could have adverse effects on your and the baby's health. If you have sickle cell disease, all of your children will have at least sickle cell trait. If the father has sickle cell trait, half would have sickle cell disease. If the father has sickle cell disease, all the kids will have SCD.
