I am 3 days late and i had a negative test. heavy cervical mucus instead. ttc for 6months. what could it be?

Many things: Could be late ovulation, pregnancy but too early to detect, infection, ovarian cyst. If you do not start your period in a few days i recommend you repeat the pregnancy test, and then contact your doctor either way.
