Free: Egypt or flushing, ny? Anyway, free t is that fraction of total t that's available to do what you normally associate w/testosterone. But this can also be mitigated by estradiol, too. Don't forget that stress over relationship, family, friends, money, work, etc can affect sex drive (libido). So can your health & medications for your health. Bad habits like tobacco & excess alcohol don't help either.

Neither: They're just different determinations of the level of testosterone. One is total, the other is not bound to proteins and is free to be active. Actually testosterone has a "permissive" effect and only a normal amount is needed for normal sex drive. Excessive levels, such as from anabolic steroids, can cause excessive sex drive and even psychosis.

Testosterone: Free testosterone effects the sex drive. Total testosterone equals Free Testosterone plus Bound testosterone. Generally about 97 % of Total Testosterone is bound and 3% is free.
