Pain?: There isn't a bone or cartilage in the clitoris to break. If there has been overly aggressive clitoral stimulation that has caused pain or discomfort, would give time for inflammation to decrease before stimulating that area again. If you are particularly concerned or believe there may be an infection, would discuss with your gynecologist.

Not a gland: The clitoris is a part of a woman's body that is important to sexual stimulation. It's not a gland in that it doesn't secrete anything. It gets large when stimulated due to inflow of blood. If you're not feeling turned on during stimulation of the clitoris you and your partner can look for other areas that are sensitive, like the g spot in the vagina or the nipples.

Must worry: I am sure that you must be worried. So first, have your OB check you, to set your mind at rest. But then, speak frankly with him or her about any other related worries--these might be hard to express in enough detail here. Perhaps you are having some sexual problems, for example, and your attempt to understand has led you to this concern. The more open you can be, the better.
