History of brain tumors, can't get into pcp. sudden sharp headache started over 13 hours ago, otc meds don't help. should i go to the er?

Yes: A sudden onset "thunderclap" type headache is a worrisome symptom, especially in someone with a history of brain problems. You should go to the emergency department if you cannot see your own physician.

Yes: This could by hydrocephalus (too much water in the brain) or bleeding into the tumor. The safest thing to do is have it checked out with a non contrast head ct first in the er if your pcp can't see you.
