A member asked:

If vasodilation increases both healing and discomfort for those with peripheral neuropathy should vasodilators be taken if we can tolerate them?

Unfortunately, : Most peripheral neuropathies do not respond, and the meds that are valuable are not vasodilators. Best to try to uncover cause of neuropathy and treat condition directly. Otherwise address symptoms with Lyrica (pregabalin) or cymbalta, and perhaps use medical food metanx in addition.

Great Question: To my knowledge there has not been a lot of research on oral vasodilators role in neuropathy but it makes great since. Medical device companies have produced a device that produces increased boodflow in peripheral nerves to help with diabetic neuropathy. Your question makes so much sense I am going to start my own little trial.
