Might be depoprovera: Unfortunately one of the common side effects of Depo Provera is weight gain, more so than any other type of hormonal birth control. You could consider switching to another form of birth control once you have finished the current 3 months. Iud including Mirena (levonorgestrel) don't cause weight gain. Birth control pills seldom result in weight gain. Also decrease carbs, sweets, pop, fruit juice, and exercise.
