Worried about stools: Normal bowel frequency varies from 3 movements/ day to one movement every 3 to 4 days. Stool consistency, measured by bristol stool scale, varies from normal (4), hard (1-3), soft (5-7). I appreciate your concern & would caution against use of laxatives, suppositories, enemas routinely. Try a dietary fiber supplement or stool softener to avoid staining. But bleeding, incontinence, pain needs eval.

Probably not: But you should not need to strain especially if you are going three times a day. Try a mild stool softener or see a gastroenterologist for a proper rectal exam to see if you have pelvic floor dyssenergia (discoordinated relaxation and contraction of the muscles that help you poop).
