Thalamic pain: Very much depends on the exact location of the stroke. Pain in the contralateral face, arm, leg, trunk can result. Should you have such pain consistent with thalamic pain syndrome, you may want to see your neurologist to discuss options which may include motor cortex stimulation (neurosurgeons do this procedure).
