Unknown Cause: When calcification of the scrotal wall occurs, there is still uncertainty as to the cause. Some believe it is from the breakdown of the muscle in the skin; others believe it is incited by trauma. Regardless, the treatment is the same: surgical excision if desired by the patient. They can recur, but if all nodules are excised this is reduced. It is not associated with cancer or uncleanliness.
