Prognosis: Recommended treatment is first oral Doxycycline for 2 weeks followed by 2-4 weeks with IV Ceftriaxone or IV penicillin g. Further use of antibiotics has not shown enhanced therapeutic effect & may cause undesirable side effects. Studies are needed to determine ultimate prognosis.
