Possibly: You could get a blood pregnancy test since it sounds like you're concerned about a missed early pregnancy. However it also could be that your period is getting ready to come. A late period is often heavier and has more cramps than usual, since there has been more time to grow the lining of the uterus, so more blood/tissue to come out.
