Do your platelets come from your chins?

The chin or the shin: Platelets are part of one's blood, and are made in the bone marrow, where the other blood cells are made. That means not much in the chin (part of the jaw), but definitely in the shins (the lower leg bones) and other large bones.

No: Platelets are "budded" ie cytoplasmic fragments, from cells in the bone marrow called megakaryocytes.
