No: A person with chronic urinary retention cannot "suck in many inches"of the lower abdomen. Do you have an obese abdomen? See a urologist for the slow split stream. At age 38 this may be due to urethral stricture but there is no point of me guessing.See a urologist for evaluation. Good luck
