A member asked:

If hpv isn't activated yet, can it go away before it is? or does it need to be activated in order to "leave your body"?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May never leave: HPV is from a family of viruses well known for the ability to hibernate in an inactive state for decades in the human body. The primary, or most infectious stage, will clear in immune competent people in about 2 yrs. Strains like those associated with cancer may trigger those changes years or decades later or never at all.
