Fertility evaluation: There are several options. Specially trained physicians can best answer this in individual cases. Many gynecologists and all reproductive endocrinologists/fertility subspecialists are trained in helping couples conceive. They not only evaluate but many also offer treatments. In most cases, the gynecologists refer couples to fertility experts for advanced treatment or more complicated conditions.

Evaluation first: Fertility treatment options depend on what is believed to be the cause of infertility (e.g. Sperm problems, blocked fallopian tubes, not ovulating, etc.). Possible infertility treatment options may include the use of Clomiphene citrate (clomid), gonadotropins, intrauterine insemination (iui), and/or in vitro fertilization (ivf).
