1-2 weeks: I tell patients to take 1-2 weeks off from work. You need that much time, before you can be comfortable at work. As far as sittting, ideally you won't put pressure on your buttock for 6 weeks. That doesn't mean that you can't sit, you just have to sit differently. Have your surgeon tell you what he/she likes to do.

2 weeks: usually you can be back to work in two weeks. depends what you do. If you can work from home on a computer while laying in bed, then you might be ok sooner. Each surgeon has their own preference on when you can start sitting and for how long etc. Ask your surgeon for what they like.

MINIMUM 2 weeks: A minimum of 2 weeks off of work, no sitting directly on the buttocks (which means no driving) for at least 3 weeks. You should be able to resume all normal activities at 4 weeks post op
