See below: Sounds like you have coccydynia or 'tailbone pain'. This can occur with trauma to the tail bone, abnormally positioned coccyx, or poor sitting posture. Try using a good lumbar support to help shift your pelvis forward. This will put the pressure on your ischium. (bottom part of pelvic bone), and will shift the weight off of your coccyx (tailbone).

Varies: There are multiple potential causes, but among the more common is a condition known as Coccydynia, which means pain from the tailbone itself. Treatment for that usually involves avoiding sitting on it and resting it to see if it resolves. Patients will often use a pillow with a "doughnut hole" cut out. If that does not work, a cortisone shot in the coccyx will usually resolve it.
