Yeast increase: Yeast/monilia overgrowth at the time of menses is common and can produce minor symptoms. Normally the problem is self-limited. If normal vaginal bacteria is balanced and the immune system intact this will often resolve without treatment. If any of the above fail , then a full blown infection may result and require treatment.
