Many: Many types of brain tumors do not show up on ct scans, especially if it was done without IV contrast because they can look the same as normal brain tissue. Mri with and without gadolinium contrast is the best way to evaluate the brain for a tumor.

It depends: Mri of the brain is better than ct in detecting brain cancers. Certain areas of the brain may appear with lots of artifact from bone/skull shadow which makes MRI a better test.
