According to some studies consumption of milk, sugary drinks, & fatty & sugary foods appears to be associated with breakouts of acne. However the main ingredient in chocolate, cacao, appears to lower risk factors for heart disease. And cacao contains tryptophan which your brain uses to produce the neurotransmitter serotonin, which can increase feelings of happiness. I wish you well!

In some people dietary factors can activate acne. Chocolate is one. Animal based foods such as dairy products, meat, eggs and most fast food can be inciting agents as well. Hormonal shifts with menstrual periods can also be a problem. There are many treatment options besides dietary changes that could help.
