Loss of reference: You are in a tube, hurtling through space...You have very limited reference points for your eyes to say are stationary, which conflicts with messages from inner ear and some from spine. Confused messages = dizzy/nausea. If over-the-counters don't help (dramamine (dimenhydrinate) / bonine), then see dr for prescription help (transderm-scop; compazine; zofran; ativan).

Conflicted Brain: On a plane vestibular system of the inner ear senses motion. However, if we look around we see a stationary insides of a plane. This is a confusing torture to the brain which tries to balance the conflicting date. Some theorize the brain decides it is therefore hallucinating from a poison and starts the vomiting in case of potential toxins. Closing your eyes spares the brain this conflict. Odd!
